In today’s society, it seems that everyone is constantly connected to their smartphones. Everywhere you go, you will see people glued to their phones and texting, even if they are in the middle of another task, such as driving. The problem is that everyone is so used to constantly being connected that they all believe that they have no problem multitasking while they continue to text. Unfortunately, studies have proven that while 98% of people think they are capable of multitasking, the more confident you are in your ability to multitask the less careful you will be and you will actually end up making more mistakes.

Therefore, as part of Distracted Driving Awareness Month, Honda has released a new series of advertisements that help to bring awareness to the dangers of trying to multitask while you are texting. The videos all show individuals trying to carry on simple everyday tasks such as making pancakes, working out, and vacuuming while texting, and in each situation their focus on their phone leads to chaos with their other tasks. The point of these advertisement is to show that if even simple tasks cannot be accomplished while texting, then driving while texting is certainly not something that anyone should be attempting.
