History of D'ELLA Honda of Glens Falls and the D'ELLA Auto Group

In 1983, Michael Della Bella established the DELLA Auto Group. Della Bella purchased Bob Clarke Pontiac in Queensbury, NY and renamed it DELLA Pontiac-Buick-Isuzu. The next addition to the DELLA Auto Group came with the opening of Christopher Chevrolet-Buick- Pontiac in Ticonderoga, NY, in 1988. Both stores are still in operation as DELLA Buick GMC Cadillac and Christopher Chevrolet Buick.

The growth of the DELLA Auto Group continued in the 1990's. In 1996, DELLA Honda was opened in Plattsburgh, NY. Also in 1999, DELLA Honda of Glens Falls was opened and eventually moved to Quaker Road next to their GM location. The DELLA Auto Group also kept up its expansion in the next decade. DELLA Suzuki of Plattsburgh was opened in 2005. In 2006, the DELLA Auto Group opened a new location for DELLA Suzuki and opened DELLA Motorsports, a Polaris dealership. As Suzuki pulled out of the U.S., the dealership transitioned to a DELLA Mitsubishi store early in 2013. The store still houses Polaris as well as Victory Motor Sports. Early in 2009, the DELLA Auto Group opened a state of the art body repair shop located on Bay Road in Queensbury, NY. Also in 2009, the DELLA Auto Group welcomed DELLA Toyota to its family of dealerships. DELLA Toyota was eventually moved to the same campus as the other 2 DELLA dealerships in Plattsburgh.

In 2011, the DELLA Auto Group acquired property formerly occupied by Saturn on Quaker Road. The purpose of this dealership was at first for a used car facility known as Autotrends. In 2016, DELLA acquired the Mazda franchise. DELLA Mazda currently shares the dealership with Autotrends at this location. Shortly after, the DELLA Auto Group purchased a KIA dealership in Plattsburgh, NY. In 2018, two more stores in Plattsburgh were rebranded with the DELLA name, when the family purchased Bill McBride Chevrolet and Bill McBride Subaru, becoming DELLA Chevrolet and DELLA Subaru. The DELLA Auto Group currently has 10 rooftops, 11 franchises and 2 body shops.

The stores continue to be owned and operated by the Della Bella family. With 11 brands: Buick, GMC, Cadillac, Chevrolet, Honda, Toyota, Mazda, Mitsubishi, Kia, Subaru and Polaris as well as 35 years of experience, you will find what you are looking for at this family owned dealership. Community involvement in each of the markets has been a priority for the organizations.
