At the 2015 Chicago Auto Show, Honda brought several all-new models, one of them being the 2016 Honda Pilot. This newest model has been redesigned with a variety of new driver assist, safety and convenience technologies that work together to provide an even more family-friendly traveling atmosphere.
“With looks that command attention and the powerful presence of true functionality, the 2016 Pilot sets a new benchmark in the midsize SUV class with an unmatched combination of sophistication and utility,” said Jeff Conrad, Honda Division senior vice president and general manager. “This means the all-new Pilot will comfort, entertain and assist active families in all aspects of their lives, whether it’s an evening out for two, a road trip adventure for all or just the chores of everyday life.”
Performance:
A 3.5L direct-injected i-VTEC® V-6 engine with Variable Cylinder Management™ (VCM™) cylinder deactivation technology powers the 2016 Pilot. Depending on the trim level, this engine is paired with either a six or nine-speed automatic transmission depending on the trim level. Idle Stop technology is also available on this model.
Safety:
Many safety and driver-assist features that are standard on this model such as Airbags, Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS) with real-time display of individual tire pressures, Expanded View Driver’s Mirror, Vehicle Stability Assist™ (VSA®) with Traction Control and four-channel anti-lock brakes (ABS) with Brake Assist and Hill Start Assist.
Honda Sensing™ also comes on this model incorporating available technologies such as Forward Collision Warning (FCW), Lane Keeping Assist System (LKAS), Lane Departure Warning (LDW), Collision Mitigation Braking System™ (CMBS), Rear Cross Traffic Monitor, Road Departure Mitigation (RDM) system, Multi-Angle Rear View Camera, Adaptive Cruise Control, Blind Spot Indicators and Honda LaneWatch™ display.
Technology & Design:
The 2016 Pilot is equipped with design features and convenience technologies such as an upsized 8-inch capacitive touchscreen Display Audio telematics interface, LED projector headlights, up to five USB ports, 20-inch wheels, a larger cargo area, a new center console with a non-slip surface and a cavernous storage compartment, soft- touch materials throughout the cabin and high-quality.
Available features include 9-inch rear entertainment system with DVD and new Blu-Ray disc™ capability, heated second-row seats, first-ever panoramic roof option, a heated steering wheel, heated and ventilated front seats and Honda Satellite-Linked Navigation System™.
