D'ELLA Honda of Glens Falls

The 2016 Honda Pilot offers the Road Departure Mitigation system (RDM) in order to help the driver stay on the right track. It utilizes the same windshield mounted camera used by the Lane Departure System that has the ability to detect yellow and white painted lines, including the cat’s eye markers, and Botts’ Dots (reflective raised nodules).

The system becomes engaged once you reach a driving speed of anywhere from 45 to 90 mph. At that point, if it detects that you are leaving your lane without the use of the turn signal, the vehicle will alert the driver by vibrating the steering wheel rapidly. If no action is taken by the driver and the vehicle detects a possible collision, the system may apply the brakes on its own. This feature can be easily turned-on and off by using its convenient push button, located to the left of the driver’s column. You can also adjust the settings found on the MID (Multi-Informational Display) system in order to fine tune the guidelines and alert sensitivities.

When you come to D’ELLA Honda of Glens Falls and test drive your Honda Pilot, our informative staff will be able to teach you all about this innovative feature.
