2014 Sales Numbers Announced by Honda
Total sales results for December and all of 2014 have been announced by American Honda Motor Co. The company states that sales increased over 2013 by 1% with the final total coming to 1,373,029 units making 2014 one of the best sales years in Honda history.
“Despite the price of gasoline dropping well below $3 a gallon in many markets, Honda’s strong, balanced lineup of cars and trucks helped us achieve record sales in 2014,” said Jeff Conrad, Honda division senior vice president and general manager. “The great news is that we will build on this momentum with some great new products coming in 2015.”
Additional Honda Highlights:
- Fit sales December increased 39.7% with 6,450 units, YTD sales increased 10.9% with 53,340 units
- YTD Civic sales reached more than 325,000 units
- Pilot December sales increased 28% with 11,479 units
- YTD Accord sales increased 5.9% with 388,374 units
- CR-V December sales increased 12.6% with 32,369 units, YTD sales increased 10.2% with 335,019 units

2015 Honda CR-V Receives Top Safety Pick + Rating
A 2015 Top Safety Pick + rating from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) has been presented to the 2015 Honda CR-V. This all-new model earned a Good or better rating in the four IIHS crash tests in order to earn this impressive safety rating.
A few of the 2015 Honda CR-V’s standard safety features include frontal, side and side-curtain airbags, Vehicle Stability Assist™ (VSA®) electronic stability control system, Advanced Compatibility Engineering™ (ACE™) body structure and Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) with Brake Assist.
This model also has available Honda Sensing™. This system includes Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC), Collision Mitigation Braking System™ (CMBS™) with Forward Collision Warning (FCW), LaneWatch™, Lane Keeping Assist System (LKAS) and Lane Departure Warning (LDW).

Honda to Debut FCV Concept to in January
At the 2015 North American International Auto Show in January 2015, the Honda FCV Concept will make its official North American debut. This newest concept model was developed with the innovative fuel cell vehicle technology that Honda has been working to develop further for the last several years.The brand plans to launch a new fuel-cell model in the beginning of 2016, the FCV offers a glimpse at what we should expect from that new model.
Stylistic features on the FCV concept include a more aerodynamic look and feel with features such as clean character lines and a low and wide body style. This model also offers several powertrain packaging options and has seating for up to five passengers.
Honda recently donated a total of $1.3 million to First Element Fuel in order to assist with the building of hydrogen refueling stations across California when this concept vehicle made its official world debut on November 17, 2014 in Japan.
2015 Honda Lineup Showcased in Teaser Video
TestDrive released a video that offers a tease of Honda models being released for 2015. In this video, the scene takes place inside a Honda development building where one worker is seen walking around to inspect each of the new models all hidden beneath a red sheet. Each time he walks up to a model a fantasy sequence starts showcasing the full unhidden model. Check out the video above to see what types of models Honda will be releasing for 2015.
Freddie Wynn Showcased in Who Makes a Honda Series
Freddie Wynn, Senior Production Manager at Honda Power Equipment Mfg. (HPE) in Swepsonville, North Carolina is the latest Honda employee to be features in the company’s “What Makes a Honda is Who Makes a Honda” series. Freddie has been a dedicated employee at HPE since the plant was first opened almost 20 years ago. Over time he has worked his way up to management from the assembly line utilizing his motto of teamwork.
“If someone needs help or advice, we’re all willing to shift hats and do whatever is needed to ensure a positive outcome,” Wynn said.
In addition to his strong role at HPE, Freddie also serves as the sergeant at arms for his local Civitan Club. This club is a nonprofit organization that provides support to a variety of organizations and events such as youth sports, Boys & Girls Homes of North America and Special Olympics. Additionally, the club also holds fundraising events such as their Haunted Forest throughout the year that provide financial support to such organizations.
