Honda Teams With DreamWorks Animation At CES
Honda has teamed up with a slightly unexpected partner for their newest project. That partner is DreamWorks Animation and the project is augmented and virtual reality content with a solutions test bed for the in-vehicle experience. Proof of concept will be demonstrated at this weekend’s Consumer Electronics Show. Guests will be able to test out the new technology and experience the Honda Dream Drive prototype at the Honda booth.
“Entertainment in the car is rapidly changing as consumers rely more and more on personal devices and Honda sees new opportunities to create unique experiences for our customers,” said John Moon, Developer Relations Lead at Honda Developer Studio. “The collaboration with DreamWorks enables Honda to enhance the in-vehicle experience through new ways of delivering information and entertainment.”
The new software development kit will “fuse live telematics data to feed in-vehicle entertainment, education and information applications that are contextually synchronized with the motion of the vehicle in real-time” giving users a very unique experience.
“We see the cabin of an automobile as an untapped platform for delivering entertaining and educational experiences to consumers,” said DreamWorks Animation’s Chief Animation Technology Officer Jeff Wike. “Working with Honda has enabled us to bring our collective talent together to explore and identify opportunities in adapting and creating new forms of consumer engagement.”

How To Clean and Maintain Your Steering Wheel
When cleaning your car you probably stick to the outside and windows, and maybe if you feel ambitious you’ll break out the vacuum for the floors and seats. Like most of our customers we don’t have time to detail our car every weekend, but there is one part of your car that we’re sure you’re forgetting about: the steering wheel. Your hands are on it whenever you are driving, which means that whatever is on your hands is now on the wheel, including germs, dirt, sweat, body oil, and who knows what else.
There are only two parts to properly cleaning your steering wheel. The first is to use a damp cotton cloth with some leather cleaner on the steering wheel to wipe away and loosen any dirt or grime on the surface. Rinse the cloth and wipe away the cleaner before drying with a soft towel. The second step is for leather wrapped steering wheels so if you don’t have one. you’re done! If you do have one, take leather conditioner and rub it into the wheel using your hands. This helps to replenish the natural oils found in leather and will help to keep it from cracking and peeling. Let the conditioner sit for about 30 minutes then wipe away with a clean towel. Maintain a clean wheel between deep cleans with prepackaged quick wipes.

Activities To Get You In The Spirit
The Christmas holiday is less than two weeks away. If you’re scrambling for some family-friendly activities to get you in the spirit, we have a few suggestions for you below. Some of these activities you’ll have to drive to so why not do so in a new Honda from D’ELLA Honda of Glens Falls!
- Find the Lights – Whether you take a trip down to NYC to see the tree in Rockefeller Center or just walk around your neighborhood to see what your friends came up with for their front lawn, it’s not Christmas until you see some lights!
- Build a Snowman – There’s still the potential for a snowstorm between now and Christmas. Make sure you get outside and build a Frosty of your own to greet any holiday guests if any of the white stuff sticks.
- Go Caroling – Door to door caroling seems to be a fading activity. Go with a group of friends or family members. Even if the people you sing for don’t celebrate Christmas they’ll probably love the gesture anyway.
- Go on a Sleigh Ride – We don’t mean sledding here. This is all about going on a real sleigh ride with horses and a man in a top hat! Check this website for places that offer this forgotten experience.
- Visit the North Pole – Not the actual North Pole, but North Pole, NY. This small town is also home to, you guessed it, Santa’s Workshop, a themed amusement park.
- Take the Polar Express – Several of the railroads in the state have fun Christmas/Winter-themed train rides throughout the season. The Saratoga & North Creek Railroad has a Polar Express-themed ride that is very popular. Learn more here.
- Watch a Parade – Almost every town or city in New York has a Christmas parade. It might not be on Christmas but whenever and wherever it takes place it’s sure to put a smile on your face.
- Go Ice Skating – It might not be quite cold enough yet to go ice skating outside but there are plenty of indoor ice rinks in the area where you can practice your triple axel or salchow.
- Volunteer – Nothing warms the heart like giving back this season. Volunteer at your church, local food pantry, school, or favorite organization to help community members in need this winter.

Honda Wins Four Recent Awards
We don’t want to brag but Honda has won another four awards since Thanksgiving. The Honda Pilot came out on top in the cars.com “Three-Row SUV Challenge”, while Consumer Guide® Automotive awarded the Ridgeline, Pilot, and HR-V its coveted “Best Buy” awards.
For the cars.com SUV Challenge, the Pilot proved itself on a 170-mile drive to determine real-world MPG, under expert evaluation on a set course, and while being driven by an in-market family. The “Best Buy” awards from Consumer Guide® Automotive are based on objective ratings and being a good value compared with others in each class. The Ridgeline was named best compact pickup truck. The HR-V took the top spot in the new subcompact crossover/SUV category. The Pilot took home the best midsize crossover/SUV award.
