2016 Honda CR-V Earns 5-Star New Car Assessment Program Rating

Recently, the 2016 Honda CR-V earned a 5-Star rating in the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) New Car Assessment Program. The 5-Star rating is the highest rating that a car can receive, and on top of that, the 2016 CR-V was also given a TOP SAFETY PICK+ by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS). "Consumers have made the CR-V America's best-selling SUV for good reason, and this top government safety rating just adds one more appealing and class-leading attribute," said Jeff Conrad, senior vice president and general manager of the Honda Division. "Honda is committed to offering vehicles that deliver advanced safety, fun-to-drive performance and connectivity, with top fuel economy ratings. CR-V is that kind of vehicle." The 2016 CR-V features some of the newest technology available. It uses Honda’s Advanced Compatibility Engineering body, a rearview camera, forward collision warnings and lane departure warnings, to keep passengers as safe as can be. It was also the first Honda vehicle to use Honda Sensing, a new feature that helps avoid accidents, and minimize damage if an accident occurs. With an even longer list of additional features, the 2016 CR-V rightfully earned its award. Safety First When it Comes to the Honda Pilot

The 2016 Honda Pilot offers the Road Departure Mitigation system (RDM) in order to help the driver stay on the right track. It utilizes the same windshield mounted camera used by the Lane Departure System that has the ability to detect yellow and white painted lines, including the cat’s eye markers, and Botts’ Dots (reflective raised nodules). The system becomes engaged once you reach a driving speed of anywhere from 45 to 90 mph. At that point, if it detects that you are leaving your lane without the use of the turn signal, the vehicle will alert the driver by vibrating the steering wheel rapidly. If no action is taken by the driver and the vehicle detects a possible collision, the system may apply the brakes on its own. This feature can be easily turned-on and off by using its convenient push button, located to the left of the driver’s column. You can also adjust the settings found on the MID (Multi-Informational Display) system in order to fine tune the guidelines and alert sensitivities. When you come to D’ELLA Honda of Glens Falls and test drive your Honda Pilot, our informative staff will be able to teach you all about this innovative feature.
