Honda recently released a new segment of its “What Makes A Honda Is Who Makes A Honda” 12-Part video series.  This new installment puts the spotlight on Honda of Canada mfg. safety leader Angie Trumpler.  For the past 26 years, Trumpler has been an active part of the Honda family.  Her role as a safety leader is one that she first took on about four years ago.

In her spare time Trumpler continues to promote safety by serving as a volunteer firefighter with her local fire department.   She also spends part of her time working with students aged 7-21 at the Miniature Horse Club of Ontario.  There, she coaches the students on the proper handling of the horses to help instill self-confidence in them by giving them a sense of accomplishment that comes with mastering these skills.

“The biggest change I notice about kids in the program is the self confidence that they build and how it helps them solve day-to-day challenges. This gives them the ability to talk to people and adapt to situations,” Trumpler said. “They have fun with the mini horses since they are less intimidating and easier to handle than full-sized horses, and it really helps them build confidence and self-esteem. We’ve noticed that many of them are doing better in school after they join the program.”
