According to data collected by IHS Automotive, four Honda models were among the most popular vehicles purchased by consumers in 2014. These four vehicles include the Accord, CR-V, Civic and Odyssey, making this the second year in a row that these models have achieved this impressive ranking. IHS Automotive came to this conclusion by researching new vehicle registrations for 2014 in order to determine which models were purchased the most throughout the year.

Overall, the registrations for the year showed that four of the best-selling passenger vehicles in America are Honda models. Additionally, new vehicle registrations of Hondas amounted to 98% of total registrations, which is the most out of any other automaker in the industry. Total registrations for the Accord, CR-V, Civic models alone totaled over one million, with each individual model receiving over 300,000 registrations. The Odyssey received total registrations of 119,615 units, which is more than received by any other minivan on the market.

“Retail sales are simply a better yardstick for measuring real-world product appeal, and Honda’s focus on retail sales translates to higher resale value and lower lifetime ownership costs for our customers,” said Jeff Conrad, senior vice president and general manager of the Honda Division. “We’re looking to build on our retail sales momentum in the light truck category in the year ahead with innovative new products including the new Honda HR-V crossover and redesigned Pilot SUV.”
