Each year Kelley Blue Book gives recognition to vehicles that have the best resale value in the industry. This year four Honda models were recognized. They were the 2017 Accord Hybrid, Fit, HR-V, and Ridgeline. Each vehicle was predicted to retain their value over their first five years of ownership based on KBB standards. Good Housekeeping also announced their picks for the Best New Car Awards for 2017. Not surprisingly, the 2017 Honda Accord Sport was named as the Best Sedan. We don’t want to brag but Honda has won another four awards since Thanksgiving. The Honda Pilot came out on top in the cars.com "Three-Row SUV Challenge”, while Consumer Guide® Automotive awarded the Ridgeline, Pilot, and HR-V its coveted “Best Buy” awards. The Honda brand’s innovative advertisement ‘Paper” has been recognized by One Show at their annual Automobile Advertising of the Year Awards, which were presented at the North American International Auto Show. Each year, One Show presents these awards to companies and brands that they feel have achieved a high level of excellence with their advertisements and global market strategies. For this year’s ceremony, “Paper” received the top honors in the 2016 Broadcast Television category. This innovative advertisement was filmed by an Academy Award-nominated stop-motion artist and it shows showcases the brand’s journey through a series of hand-drawn illustrations that were created by several different artists. For the second time, a Honda model has been presented with the North American Car of the Year Award. The first honor came ten years ago when the Ridgeline won in 2006, and now the 2016 Honda Civic is the recipient of this prestigious award. The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) has presented the 2016 Honda Pilot with a Top Safety Pick + rating when it is equipped with the optional front crash prevention. In order to earn this distinction, the 2016 Pilot had to earn a GOOD rating in five of the IIHS crash tests including the small overlap frontal crash test. Additionally, their front crash prevention system needed to earn an advanced or superior rating.
