Honda knows that the average family spends a large portion of their time in the car. Between pickups and dropoffs for school, sports, clubs, playdates, and family trips, your kids tend to spend several hours a week in transit. Therefore, Honda has decided that the time spent in the car could be used to help inspire kids to become more interested in reading and creativity. That’s why they have released the new Honda Road Readers app to help you provide a better selection of listening options for your travels. This new app will be available for Apple® and Android™ and it will include 10 rotating National Teacher of the Year featured books along with a number of audiobook categories that include fantasy/adventure, mystery, science fiction, and teens. This new app is especially relevant in today’s society where a recent study showed that the majority of parents feel that listening to stories is vital to their child’s cognitive development and developing listening skills. Additionally, in a world that is run by digital screens, it is important to have an entertainment option that does not require the child to be looking at one. "The goal for the Honda Road Readers program is to provide an educational and entertaining alternative to the usual car ride and inspire young listeners to vividly imagine," said Susie Rossick, Assistant Vice President, Honda/Acura Regional Media and Marketing at American Honda Motor Co., Inc. "This effort is a powerful demonstration of our commitment to the brand's 'Power of Dreams' philosophy by encouraging our customers and their families to dream big together." Any Honda owner who is interested in this new app can visit www.hondaroadreaders.com to register and learn more. Short Film “Paper” Tells Story Of Honda’s Innovative History
‘The Power of Dreams” has been the official Honda motto for some time, and the brand has truly made an effort to build their image around the promise of a brighter tomorrow with the help of the dreamers and thinkers of today. Through a series of impressive and innovative new technologies released over the years, the brand has actually been living this motto since the brand was first established by founder Soichiro Honda. In fact, his start was formed by this motto when he sought to power his wife’s bicycle using a radio generator. Since that first inspired dream, the brand has gone on to create more and more impressive advancements including the HondaJet, Indy Racing cars, and ASIMO. In order to showcase some of the top moments in the last six decades of the Honda corporation’s history, the brand created a unique short film. This film is called “Paper” and it tells the Hond history in the style of a flip book using thousands of hand-drawn color illustrations created by numerous artists. "The goal is for the marketing itself to become a demonstration of Honda thinking and all the people that touch our wide range of products along the way," said Tom Peyton, Assistant Vice President of Marketing for American Honda Motor Co., Inc. "This commercial stands for the courage and conviction to imagine and make dreams a reality and speaks to Honda's innovative nature and respect for personal achievement and contributions."

2016 HR-V Crossover Shows Us How to Advertise Correctly
Give and Take: Great Thinking Inside: Lining up with the kickoff of the 2016 Honda HR-V Crossover, Honda is beginning an advertising campaign that depicts the history of the brand’s innovation leading up to the 2016 HR-V. The advertising campaign is comprised of two different TV approaches “Give and Take” and “Great Thinking Inside”. “Give and Take” is a campaign depicting people’s faces being contorted in a variety of areas to show how hard it is to get everything exactly how you want it. The HR-V has found the perfect no-exceptions vehicle where everything is the way it should be. “Great Thinking Inside” focuses on the nostalgic side of long time Honda owners. Featuring models like the prelude, del sol, Element, and more, each model appears to come out of the car before it, depicting how each good idea seems to come from the previous one. All leading up to the HR-V Crossover. Paired with Sammy Davis Jr.’s “Gonna Build A Mountain” the feeling of nostalgia is only heightened. "The versatility, sleek design and advanced technology of the all-new HR-V Crossover provides a multi-dimensional element that will appeal to a variety of people," said Jeff Conrad, senior vice president and general manager of the Honda Automobile Division of American Honda Motor Co., Inc. "The vehicles in ‘Great Thinking Inside' are iconic Honda models that demonstrate our evolution of thinking, while ‘Give and Take' illustrates our dedication to innovations, and we're proud to continue this track record with the all-new HR-V." The campaign will combine a variety of advertising forms making use of everything from TV, to magazine insertions, to homepage spreads on yahoo and youtube. Where so many advertising campaigns have gone wrong, the HR-V manages to execute it perfectly.
Honda Expands Environmental Leadership Program
Everyone is trying to be more environmentally conscious these days and automotive manufacturers are no different. Creating more eco-efficient cars and encouraging a more overall “Greener” lifestyle throughout dealerships and customers are ways in which the industry is attempting to fight global warming and help preserve our environment for generations to come. For Honda, one of their biggest steps into promoting sustainability was the creation of the Honda Environmental Leadership Program in 2011. Through this program, dealerships are encouraged to adopt greener habits through energy reduction in areas such as water fixtures, lighting, cooling and heating. In order to assist dealers on ways to accomplish these tasks, Honda created a 93-page “Green Dealer” guide which is available to be downloaded on greendealer.honda.com. This program is completely voluntary, but dealerships that make significant reduction costs do become eligible for a Honda Environmental Leadership Award. Now, Honda has chosen to expand that program in order to include power-equipment dealers, engine distributors, powersports dealers and marine dealers. We're pleased to announce the expansion of the Honda Environmental Leadership Program to our powersports dealers," said Michael Rizner, American Honda Manager of Motorcycle Dealer Development. "Environmental awareness is an important part of being a responsible corporate citizen, and the automobile dealerships who have participated in the program have demonstrated that not only is the program capable of reducing the dealer's environmental impact but it can also assist in reducing overhead. We're looking forward to helping more powersports dealerships reduce their environmental footprints by enrolling in this program." The recipients of these awards are selected by third-party evaluators in order to offer a score for each dealer based on its eco-friendly upgrades. Their overall score earns them recognition to either the Silver, Gold or Platinum level, with a few select earning “Electric Grid Neutral” status. This means that the energy produced by renewable energy sources is equal to or greater than that what they consume from their local electric utility over a one-year period. Through this program, over the past three years, sixty-five different automotive dealerships have reduced their energy consumption by at least 10 percent.
Honda Creates A Feeling in New Civic Advertisement
Honda knows that no matter how incredible a vehicle looks or what it comes equipped with that for most drivers, the feeling they get behind the wheel is generally the deciding factor. Knowing this, the brand has worked to design and build vehicles that offer a feeling that stays with them and makes a real impression. This has been cleverly reflected by the brand in a newly released advertisement for the Honda Civic. In the advertisement above we see the all-new Civic traveling along three different roads but the images have been slowed down. While in slow-motion, Honda engineers are seen working to make the moment perfect by including road splatter, butterflies, birds and more in order to provide the driver with one instant of perfection. The spot ends with the voiceover saying “Some say the most powerful thing you can build is a feeling”. Check out the video above to see this beautifully executed advertisement and to get an up close look at the new Civic.
“Endless Road” Advertisement Features Honda CR-V
A new advertisement called “Endless Road” has been released by Honda featuring the all-new Honda CR-V, the brand’s most advanced ever. In the advertisement, we are given a mesmerizing illusion of the vehicle traveling in circles around the same road again and again. This visual is meant to depict the brand’s mentality that the road to developing the perfect vehicle is never-ending. See the unique advertisement in the video above and be sure to check back here for more information in the all-new CR-V.
