January Sales Announced By Honda

Total sales for the Honda Division have been released for January and overall the official total is a slight improvement over sales from last January with the brand achieving a total of 90,247 units sold. This is a notable accomplishment especially considering that there were two fewer selling days in January and that the weather wreaked havoc on both the east and west coasts last month. The all-new Honda Civic truly lived up to its status as the North American Car of the Year by achieving a 55 percent year-over-year sales increase and ending the month with 26,741 units sold. Other top-selling Honda models in January included the Accord with sales up 7 percent to reach 20,765 units, the CR-Z with sales up 6 percent to reach 192 units, the HR-V with 4,177 units, and the Odyssey with 7,221 units. "Led by incredibly strong demand for the all-new Civic, the Honda brand persevered rain, snow and two fewer selling days to post a strong first month of the year," said Jeff Conrad, senior vice president and general manager of the Honda Division. "With Honda's strong cadence of new models throughout 2016 we will continue our momentum and remain positive about 2016." 2017 Honda Ridgeline Featured In Super Bowl Commercial

Its that time of year again when football fans everywhere begin making plans and placing bets on the outcome of the biggest sporting event of the year. While for many, the Super Bowl may be all about the outcome of the game, it is also synonymous for having some of the most memorable commercials. This year, one of those advertisers will be Honda with their spot “A New Truck to Love” featuring the 2017 Honda Ridgeline pickup. This 60-second spot will air during the third quarter of the game and features the 2017 Ridgeline along with a flock of sheep singing Queen’s “Somebody to Love”. The incorporation of the song is used to demonstrate the first factory truck-bed audio system that is an available feature in the 2017 Ridgeline. This feature allows owners to play music outside of their truck rather than just inside the cabin. "Great Super Bowl spots are entertaining for the fans while communicating an essential value of the product, and we believe our Honda Ridgeline commercial accomplishes both objectives in dramatic fashion," said Jeff Conrad, senior vice president and general manager of the Honda Automobile Division. "With so many truck buyers passionate about football, the big game is the perfect setting to introduce the all-new Ridgeline, and the distinctive features that make it the ultimate tailgating vehicle." Tune into the Big Game on Sunday to see this new spot air live or check it out now in the video below! "Innovative 2017 Honda Ridgeline Pickup Leads the Flock in New Super Bowl Commercial." What Makes a Honda is Who Makes a Honda

The What Makes a Honda is Who Makes a Honda video series highlights Honda employees who exemplify Honda’s belief in the Power of Dreams. The latest installment follows two Honda Research & Development associates who are involved in the Walking Assist Project. Hideaki Takahashi and Kenton Williams have been collaborating to advance a Honda Robotics technology that will help people to walk during physical therapy. While both men come from very different cultures and backgrounds (Takahashi is a native of Japan, while Williams is a MIT graduate from Ohio), their passion over this project has brought them together. Williams remarked that their “shared desire to help people with disabilities transcends any difference.” Both Williams and Takahashi are striving to achieve Honda’s dream of offering the joy of mobility to more people. Takahashi noted, “Walking is the most primitive, fundamental form of mobility. That's why it is important for Honda to continue to work on this product.” "Honda Engineers Are Who Makes a Honda." 2016 North American Car of the Year Award Presented to 2016 Honda Civic

For the second time, a Honda model has been presented with the North American Car of the Year Award. The first honor came ten years ago when the Ridgeline won in 2006, and now the 2016 Honda Civic is the recipient of this prestigious award. The recipient of this award is decided each year by a group of 53 international automotive journalists from the United States and Canada. The group chooses the winner bases on a variety of factors such as driver satisfaction, innovation, value, design, handling, and safety performance. "The all-new Civic was developed and is built in North America, making this North American Car of the Year win even sweeter," said Jeff Conrad, Honda Division senior vice president and general manager. "Civic is a cornerstone of the Honda lineup, and we're delighted that the automotive press has recognized the new levels of styling, performance, advanced technology, safety and value that characterize the new Civic." The 2016 Honda Civic has been completely redesigned with a new look on both the outside and the inside. This model is also the first compact car in the world to be equipped with Apple CarPlay® and Android Auto™. Additional technologies found in this model include Honda Sensing™ safety and driver-assistive technologies and Honda turbo engine technology.
